William Daniels is an American actor from Brooklyn. He was born in 1927 and got his first taste of show biz when his family formed a traveling song-and-dance troupe. He made his television debut back in 1943 when he was still just a teenager. A couple of years later he made his Broadway debut in the 1939 comedy Life With Father.

For the next couple of decades, Daniels was predominately a stage actor. In 1963 he made the jump from stage to screen in Ladybug Ladybug. In 1965 he starred in the comedy A Thousand Clowns. Perhaps his most famous film role was in 1967 when he played Dustin Hoffman’s father in The Graduate.

In the 1970s, Daniel found success portraying John Adams in the film adaptation of 1776 – a role that he had previously played on the Broadway stage. He would continue to reprise the role of Adams for the net several years on various spin-off television programs.

In the 80s, he played the voice of KITT the car in Knight Rider. He followed that roll up by playing Dr. Mark Craig in St. Elsewhere from 1982 to 1988.

In 1993, he signed on to Michael Jacobs ABC sitcom Boy Meets World as Mr. Feeny, Cory, and Eric Mathews sagely teacher, neighbor, and advisor. That role ended up being one of the most iconic that Daniels would play in his exceptionally long career. He’d reprise the role in 2014 in the sequel series Girl Meets Role.
