In 2004, she starred in Shrek 2, which became the third-highest-grossing film of all time.

Cameron Diaz went on to deliver many successful and critically-acclaimed films over the next few years, further solidifying her position as a Hollywood A-lister with every role she did. The world was, therefore, greatly surprised when at the height of her career, Cameron Diaz decided to leave the world of glamour for a peaceful life. In 2014, after the release of Annie, Cameron Diaz announced a formal retirement from show business.
