Al Pacino grew up poor, with only one parent after his father left when he was only two. He struggled to get through school, at least until he started to develop his love for acting. He struggled to land parts in the early years and fought with feelings of inadequacy, in spite of his obvious (to everyone else) talent. And while he was still trying to land parts that would let him showcase his acting skills, Al Pacino lost several members of his family. This left him even more unsure of how to move on with his life.

His passion for acting never left him though, and his efforts paid off when landed one of his most iconic roles – Michael Corleone in the Godfather. Even that role wasn’t without its challenges though. Struggles with alcohol and the toll some of his parts took on his mental health left Pacino fighting to stay above water. And while he’s well-known for many great films, he had his share of failures. Some were bad enough to make him step away from acting for years at a time.

In this video, we’re going to look at the disturbing truth about Al Pacino – the struggles and personal demons that he fought in the early years and the challenges he still faces today. Once you hear how many challenges he’s overcome in his life, you’ll appreciate how great this legendary actor is more than ever.
