Piers Morgan began as a writer and editor. He started out editing and writing for a variety of British tabloids, which include The Sun, The Daily Mirror, and News of the World. He was just 29 when he was granted the role of editor for News of the World, which made him one of the youngest editors for a British national newspaper in history.
Over the years, Piers Morgan slowly crawled to success, landing jobs as a writer and editor for increasingly popular magazines and newspapers. Unfortunately, his pride got in the way, and he was eventually fired from his job at The Daily Mirror after refusing to admit that he had published fake photographs as part of a hoax.
This unfortunate incident did not harm Morgan’s career, however, as he soon made his debut on television. His first gig on television took place in 2003, when he presented a BBC documentary called The Importance of Being Famous. After that, he co-hosted an interview show with Amanda Platell called Morgan and Platell. It was dropped after three seasons, but by that time, Morgan had already established himself as a talented television host. From there, he became a judge on the popular shows America’s Got Talent and Britain’s Got Talent.
He became a guest-host on the show Good Morning Britain in April of 2015. His appearance was popular enough with viewers that he became a permanent co-host just a few months later. However, he didn’t exactly make friends with his colleagues. One of his co-hosts, Susanna Reid, even said "You can’t help but go into battle with him every morning."
Piers Morgan has become embroiled in a number of controversies, and he shows no sign of slowing down. He almost seems to revel in his notoriety, and he regularly posts content on Twitter that is immediately met with backlash.
