Jerry Seinfeld is 66 years old but he’s clearly still got a lot of steam left in his career. Netflix just released his first stand-up special in 22 years and he published his new book ‘Is it Anything" back in October. You would think that Seinfeld would be considering retirement by now. After all, he’s one of the richest performers in history. Recent estimates put his net worth somewhere around a billion dollars.

But for Jerry, his love for comedy hasn’t ever been about the money or the fame. He’s in it for the laughs. His story is one that should inspire most anyone. He started out with nothing and chased his passion for stand-up with everything that he had in him. He didn’t let early setbacks and failures discourage him from chasing his dreams.
And sure, he had several lucky breaks throughout his career. No one can deny that but has always taken his work very seriously. He’s worked hard to get to where he is today.
Jerry’s first gig was at an open-mic night in 1975. He recalls that it went really poorly. He was nearly booed off the stage but regardless of that difficult experience, he pressed on. When he met Larry David, he got to work developing his eponymous sitcom. That was the moment when his career really started to skyrocket.
But even after finding success, he never let it go to his head. Comedy can’t be faked, and fame won’t make anyone laugh. If you’re going to succeed as a comedian, you have to consistently make your audience laugh – and that’s exactly what Jerry has been doing for all these years.
In this video, we’re going to look at the life and career of Jerry Seinfeld – a man whose surname has become synonymous with his brand of observational humor. We’re going to look at several of his high points and even a couple of his low ones. And along the way, you’re surely going to learn a lot about the comic that you never expected.
