SEATTLE– Jimmy Garoppolo solidified his spot in 49ers history on Sunday with one of the very best seasons in the quarterback-rich history of the organization.

In what was most likely the most significant regular-season game in the 74-season history of the team, the 49ers left Seattle with a dramatic 26-21 triumph over the Seahawks on Sunday night at CenturyLink Field.

The 49ers won the NFC West and made home-field benefit in the NFC playoffs.

His 69.1 completion percentage is third all-time amongst 49ers quarterbacks in a single season behind only Hall of Famers Steve Young and Joe Montana.

The 49ers complete the regular season with a 13-3 record, with Garoppolo playing every significant breeze after missing the last 13 video games of 2018 with a torn ACL in his left knee.

Garoppolo joins some lofty business amongst the quarterbacks who have actually led the 49ers to more than 12 success in a single season.

Joe Montana began 15 games in 1984 and 1990, when the 49ers went 14-1 in both seasons with him behind center. In 1992, the 49ers were 14-2 with Steve Young beginning every game. Garoppolo signs up with the 13 Club, as the 49ers also registered 13 victories in a single season with Young (1994 ), Montana (1981) and Alex Smith (2011 ).
