Advertising executive David McCall came up with the idea of using songs to help children learn complex topics that otherwise take forever to rote learn or understand. Over seven seasons spanning more than three decades, Schoolhouse Rock was a phenomenal success that tackled a new subject each season, such as multiplication, grammar, science, American history, and computer science. Though dated, many of these tunes are catchy and can even be used today.
