Bad First Date Edition:  5 Surefire Ways to Make a Dash for the Door

From the list of many first dates, one first date stands out. It stands out because it is a winner —A winner in bad first dates. That’s one story that most of us don’t want a do over for. You want to distant yourself from the night when your head began to pound, not from the drinks, but from the person sitting across from you who couldn’t shut his or her trap.

1.     Organize a Charade

Make an excuse to go to the little girls or boys room, call your friend to come over and act as your ex-lover. If you want, you can give your friend personality traits such as angry, violet, or overly emotional.

After putting on a little show, the date will think he or she has had the worst first date. What about the table reserved for two? Your friend and you can have a nice meal, laughing at the mixed expression on your date’s face.

2.     Play the Distress Card

Tell your date an emotional story about how good your ex-lover treated you, but how you were too blind to value him or her. You can put on the waterworks if you really want to get dramatic. Don’t forget that from the food to the music playing should remind you of your ex-lover.

3.     The See and Dash

The see and dash method is only to be used in dire circumstances. When you are getting that uncomfortable feeling in your gut, go see your date from afar and if you don’t like what you see, make a dash for the door, thus the name. 4.     Something Feels Wrong

Art of deception may not come naturally to you and you may be afraid that you would blow your cover, if you try. Instead of telling them an elaborate lie, tell them right where it hurts, in the heartstrings. We are warning you, your date may get angry or start crying. If you are lucky, they may appreciate your honesty or be relieved that you said the truth first, before they could make an excuse to leave.
