Alex Trebek hosted the TV game show Jeopardy! across 37 seasons from 1984 to 2020. That means he fronted way over 8,000 episodes of the popular game show. Not only that but he hosted many other shows. He could be called the face of game shows on American television.

Alex also appeared in a large number of other shows. He wasn’t an actor, but he didn’t need to be – he usually played himself! His charismatic personality and dry humor turned Jeopardy! into one of the most popular shows on US TV.
In March 2019 he announced that he was suffering from pancreatic cancer, and was receiving treatment. He continued to work, and recorded the last shows he was to host in October 2020. These have been aired as a tribute to Alex Trebek.
