10 Most Awesome Moments at the Zoo

When was the last time you went to the zoo? I know some of you don’t like seeing wild animals in captivity, but lots of zoos around the world are doing their best to make these animals feel safe and comfortable. And I know there are some exceptions, but overall, these places have provided a home away from home for lots of animals that wouldn’t be able to survive in the wild. Some of them are almost extinct and some of them are just not in the best conditions to go back to their homes. But lots of zoos are trying to provide solutions to these problems. And not just that, but they have also opened their doors for us to come and make some company to these animals while creating amazing memories with them. That’s why today we can look at “10 Most Awesome Moments at the Zoo.” We’ll go through some of the best things that have been documented at different zoos around the world. Some are scary, some are silly, but one thing is for sure…if you love animals, then you’ll definitely love this video.

A Rude Photobomb

Parents always look for opportunities to get the best pictures of their children. That’s why it shouldn’t surprise you when you see them pulling out their phones at every single move their child makes – and that includes photos during their visits to the zoo. But some pictures at the zoo can be quite unpredictable, especially when you’re surrounded by kangaroos. You might remember kangaroos for being quite playful and sometimes feisty, so it shouldn’t surprise you that the kangaroo in this picture was eager to do whatever it takes to be part of the photo. The result is indeed funny. The mom didn’t get the face of her child in the picture, but she definitely has something better – she got one of the most awesome photobombs that anyone could have asked for.

Dressed up for the occasion

A lot of kids always look for excuses to dress up with funny costumes. And the kid in this picture chose the right moment to rock out his polar bear costume. He wore it during his visit to the zoo and the results were heart-warming. He got the polar bear to swim to the glass and stare at the kid. I wonder what was going through the polar bear’s mind. Did he think it was one of his own? Did he think the child was lost? I’m not sure, but by the look on his face, I can tell that the bear became very curious when he saw someone that looks like him on the other side of the glass.

Avoiding the Vet

You know how some kids try to avoid their visits to the doctor? Well, we’re not the only species that feels like that in regards to medical attention. You can see this little rhino was trying to avoid being examined by one of the vets at the zoo. But just when the rhino was trying to get away, he came face to face with his mom’s horn. So he had to make a choice whether to see the vet, or get his mom angry – and it doesn’t seem like he was a fan of any of those options. Just like humans, animals get their regular checkups. Responsible zoos usually have veterinarians who take care of the medical needs of their animals. And I’m not sure what happened to this rhino, but I know he wasn’t excited about this checkup. But mother knows best! And it doesn’t seem like the mom was gonna let him get out of this one.

It’s Too Cold

What do you do when the weather is too cold? I know some of you enjoy the cold, but some of us don’t do well at very low temperatures. That’s why we find pleasure in having a nice hot drink and wrapping ourselves in warm thick blankets. But what do animals do? Well, they have all sorts of coping mechanisms, but the meerkats at the London Zoo find their comfort under this heat lamp. In fact, this is a popular choice among zookepers who have meerkats in places that tend to experience extremely cold winters. They set up these lamps so the meerkats cand huddle up and get warm under it. Isn’t that cute? Meerkats are native to the southern part of the African continent. They usually live in open plains and in the savannah, where they can figure out natural ways to deal with the cold. Since they don’t have access to all of these things at the zoo, the staff makes up for it by setting up the lamps. How thoughtful of them!
